Merger with ValleyStar Credit Union.

September 11, 2018

Dear Friend,

Your Board of Directors along with your CEO, Lisa Lambrecht, have had the most thoughtful conversations as we discern the future of Entrust. You continue to sustain the credit union's good work by building a strong relationship with us. We are thankful for this!   As the financial marketplace continues to evolve, we want to ensure that our small, but mighty credit union’s mission continues to thrive. We have been reviewing numbers, listening to experts in the industry, networking with other credit unions to learn of their perspectives and most importantly we pray. During this time, we had an opportunity to meet with ValleyStar Credit Union. They are headquartered in Martinsville, Virginia and have been serving areas of Virginia and North Carolina since 1953. Our conversations have evolved into an opportunity to merge together and your Board of Directors believes that this will be beneficial to ensure the mission of Entrust continues, especially since we share the same servant heart.

By joining Entrust’s global services and ValleyStar’s commitment to community, the combined credit union will have the resources and financial strength to serve the needs of the membership through whatever economic, technology, or regulatory changes may come. All the while we are able to enhance our value to you - our members- in the form of higher dividends, improved systems, additional locations and expanded service offerings. Not only will this merger allow for greater value for existing members, but it will also allow us to help others across the state achieve their higher purpose.

It is important that you hear about this opportunity from me first. There is still much work to be done so this merger may become a reality. It requires continued discernment along with approvals from federal and state regulators. Most importantly, it will require you, our members, to vote that a merger with ValleyStar is in the best interest of Entrust. Should this merger be approved, we will begin to bring all facets of the two credit unions together in a way that limits inconvenience for you.  I promise more information will be mailed to the address we have on file for you soon.  If you need to update your address with the credit union, we recommend you do so as soon as possible.

I know we have been down this road before, but I promise you that whether we are Entrust or ValleyStar, your Board of Directors and staff continues to remain steadfast in our commitment to you and your calling. On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you for the opportunity to serve you and seek ways to allow the mission of Entrust to thrive for years to come. Please refer to our website for more information about the merger. Of course, we will be in touch with email and direct mail to highlight other milestones along the way. If you have any questions, please contact Entrust at 800.944.3622 or

Bless you,
