Reg D - Electronic Debits & Your Savings Account

Regulation D limits the number of automatic or electronic debits that may come out of a savings account in the course of a month in order for the account to be considered a savings account. That limit is 6 automatic or electronic debits, including ACH debits and overdraft transfers to your checking account. Once you reach the limit of 6 automatic or electronic transactions no further electronic or automatic transactions will be allowed on the account during that month, resulting in any subsequent items being denied or returned and a return fee being charged on to your account. Transactions made in person or at our office or the shared branch do not count toward the 6 transaction limit.
